In a busy world, with insane schedules and lot of things to remember, iPhone* reminders are pretty useful to remember what to do and when to do it. This is why I decided to develop an App dedicated to orthodontic patients to remind them or the parents when:
There were quite a bunch of Apps for scheduling clear aligner changes, but they allowed to set reminder only for this special treatment regimen, while I use willing to give to my patients something that could work with any kind of appliance who need a call to action.Together with a friend and web designer** we developed Brace Reminder that was conceived for a straight forward use, a few seconds after the download.
No need to register. The patient just needs to recognize the appliance that he's using and fix days interval and at which time to fire the call to action (it can be also twice a day for palatal expander and elastics).Let’s think if you switch from weekly changes of clear aligners to 5 days or 3days, as you are using (or not) some sort of accelerator. It’s quite a task to calculate when to switch the aligners, especially when the month get to his irregular end (30th or 31st, and once per year 28th).
Patients and parents aren’t big fan of mathematics and to schedule all the changes on the kitchen calendar is still effective but a little old fashioned. Why not to give them the opportunity to set a reminder according to their orthodontist preferences and live without worries about forgetting when it’s time to perform their assigned task? This includes elastics where I thought that It was useful to have the possibility to take a selfie, that will be saved into the photo gallery of their own phone.I’ve tried with my patients and they appreciate a lot. It’s not branded, no ads, straightforward use.Why don’t you give a try?
