The 3D Orthodontist

Having an intraoral scanner is not necessary, it just makes life much much easier. Not only because you can have an immediate access to the 3D files, but also because take a digital impression with brackets on it’s comfortable for both you and the patient.

There’s a question you should ask yourself before to think at which scanner to buy for your office. It’s something like «Do I really need a scanner? ».

...it allows you to better explain the patient’s problem with their teeth as a model, which can be zoomed on and turned to allow them to really understand what is, e.g., so bad with that crossbite in the molar area (a concept otherwise not so easy to explain). The discussion takes a turn which is much more immediate compared to showing pictures or a sterile white plaster model at a future appointment. It opens to us a new way of symmetric communication/information with our patients

This is something that the most orthodontics are experiencing since a long time with Invisalign and their clear aligners conceived and produced in Costa Rica and shipped all over the world.
